Equipment

  • Traeger Pellet Grill or other pellet smoker

Ingredients

  • 6 large peaches ripe, but not too soft
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp honey

Toppings, optional as desired

  • vanilla ice cream
  • whipped cream
  • balsamic glaze
  • olive oil

Instructions

  • Preheat the smoker to 250° F.
  • Cut each peach in half and remove the pit.
  • In a small bowl combine the olive oil and honey and mix well.  Use a pastry brush to brush the honey mixture onto the cut side of the peach.
  • Place the cut peaches cut side up on the pellet grill for 45 minutes.  Flip the peaches (placing cut side down on the grill grates) for the remaining 15 minutes until the peaches are soft with grill marks on the bottom.
  • Remove the peaches from the Traeger and serve as desired!

Notes

Ingredient Notes
  • Olive Oil - I recommend a high quality olive oil for the best flavor!
  • Honey - This is a great natural sweetener that helps the edges of the peaches to caramelize during the smoke.
Serving Notes
These peaches are great served warm topped with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, and/or a drizzle of balsamic glaze.  You can find many more serving suggestions in the post above.
Cooking Notes
  • Peaches are done smoking after 30 minutes at 250 degrees F.  However, you can adjust the time and temperature if desired.  Smoking them faster at a higher temperature will result in less smoke flavor, and smoking them slower at a lower temperature will result in more smoke flavor  .
  • Milder and sweeter wood pellets, like apple, cherry, and pecan pellets work great for this recipe!
  • On a gas or charcoal grill, the time will have to be adjusted as the heat is higher.  Keep an eye on the grilled peaches to ensure they don’t burn.  Flip the peaches in the last five minutes to get grill marks on the cut side.
