The post is finally here! (Phew!) I’ve been asked numerous times what I’m stocking my fridge and pantry with during this quarantine to continue to make quick and healthy meals for my family and the time has come to lay it all down with a list of my favorite Paleo Kitchen Staples!
The funny thing though? While compiling this list, I realized my quarantine paleo kitchen staples don’t look much different (if at all) from my non quarantine kitchen staples.
Sure, we have more frozen veggies on hand then normal, but having a hubby that’s a firefighter (which means I’m on my own for dinner a lot!) and two rambunctious boys that are ALWAYS hungry, having a well stocked and versatile kitchen full of things I can throw together is a must!
Below, I’m breaking it down for you. All of my paleo kitchen staples that are pretty much always on hand for healthy breakfasts and lunches, on the go snacks, and quick paleo dinners.
And did I mention paleo baking must haves?! Because we all know baking is THE thing to do during quarantine!
Plus I’m sharing some tips and tricks for my favorite ingredients along the way! Here. We. Go.!

Paleo Kitchen Staples
Bulk Items
- Chicken Bone Broth - I always have bone broth on hand. It’s great to add to any meal that needs a liquid, and I always use it as the liquid in my instant pot (which we all know I use A LOT!)
- Marinara Sauce - Seriously THE best to have one hand. Throw on top of some pasta and a chicken apple sausage and you have dinner in 10 minutes. Or place on top of chicken with some nutritional yeast to mix this up a bit.
- Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk
- Coffee - Does this one even need an explanation??
Canned Goods
During this time of quarantine I definitely have more canned and frozen veggies on hand as I’m not always able to find as many fresh veggies as normal but here are some of my favorites that are always in my kitchen.
- Fire Roasted Tomatoes - Great for so many things: soups, chilis or saute with peppers, onions and sausage. OR give my whole 30 spicy sweet potato chili a try!
- Tomato Sauce & Tomato Paste
- Olives
- Canned Tuna - I love to mix with dijon mustard, a chopped apple, and serve over greens. My husband is all about tuna melts between two slices of GF bread.
- Canned Coconut Milk - Great for baking and making things super creamy and delicious like my creamy chicken tortilla soup.... so good!.
Fats
- Avocado Oil - The oil I use most in cooking. I prefer to saute with it due to it’s high smoke point.
- Olive Oil - Great for dressings and condiments.
- Ghee - The most delicious buttery taste. Give these baked ranch potato wedges a try.
- Coconut Oil - The oil I use most in baking. Also, my favorite oil for roasting sweet potatoes!
Vinegar's
- Apple Cider Vinegar - I use this for everything. {I even take a swig of it every night…gross…. I know but so healthy} Often times when dishes are “missing something” it’s an acid. Add a little ACV! Or try my immune boosting berry smoothie with this as the secret ingredient!
- Balsamic Vinegar - My favorite for pasta sauce and topping salads.
- Red Wine Vinegar - If you haven’t had No Crumbs Left marinated onions, you need them in your life NOW!
Condiments
I feel like no explanation is needed here. These are my favs! Make sure when purchasing condiments (and anything for that matter) you check the ingredients list for any extra naughty ingredients that companies might be sneaking in! Tessemae's and Primal Kitchen are my two favorite, go-to, paleo compliant brands.
Spices
These are just a few of my absolute favorite spices that I use nearly every single day.
- Garlic powder & Garlic Salt
- Onion Powder
- Cinnamon
- Turmeric - Great anti-inflammatory - I sneak it in wherever I can!
- 21 Seasoning Salute - From Trader Joes
- Everything But The Bagel Seasoning

Baking Staples
Many of my favorite baking ingredients have been mentioned in categories above such as: coconut oil, dairy free milk, sweeteners and nut butters. But, here are the remainder of my staple baking ingredients.
- Almond Flour
- Coconut Flour
- Tapioca Flour - Also great for thickening sauces in cooking!
- Baking Powder
- Baking Soda
- Chocolate Chips
- Vanilla
- Cacao Powder
Misc Paleo Pantry Staples
- Nutpods - the best addition to your morning cup of coffee.
- Potatoes- I don’t go crazy here but will buy a 5lb bag at a time. Great for adding to dishes or slicing up and baking as a side.
- Onions - Some people are not onion people, we are not those people. We love onions and add too anything and everything, cooked or raw!
Fresh Vegetables
- Lettuce - I typically buy the large containers of spring mix or baby lettuce. To keep the lettuce fresh longer, place a folded paper towel on top of the lettuce after opening.
- Cucumber
- Bell Peppers
- Carrots
- Broccoli
- Beets
- Celery
- Green Beans
- Asparagus
- Artichokes
My biggest tip for quick meals with fresh produce is to always have a big salad in the fridge made up of whatever fresh veggies you have available. I make a large salad every couple of days and it makes it a breeze to add a quick protein source and lunch or dinner is served!
Fresh Fruit
- Berries - We love berries over here! I like to wash right when we get home from the store, drain well and place the berries in a container with a folded paper towel. If berries haven’t been devoured after a couple days, I throw them in the freezer. No waste, and perfect for smoothies!
- Citrus fruits - not only yummy but great for cooking as well!
- Apples
- Bananas - buy two bunches and freeze one for quick smoothies!
Frozen Veggies
Sometimes convenience is key! Here are the frozen veggies I always have on hand.
- Cauliflower Rice
- Sweet Potato Rice
- Green Beans
- Cauliflower Gnocchi - Trader Joes
- Spinach
Meat & Seafood
If you aren’t yet using Butcherbox, you should be. This is 100% not sponsored, we just love them and their meat THAT much! Pick the meat and seafood you want in your box every month and it ships straight to your door, frozen. Here’s some of our favorite Paleo Kitchen Staples meats that we always have in the freezer to throw on the grill or in the instant pot.
- Chicken Breast & Tenders
- Chicken Thighs
- Ground Beef
- Ground Pork
- Bacon
- Salmon
- Steak
- Pork Chops
Aidells Chicken Apple Sausage
- Chicken Apple Sausage - This deserves it’s own category. Serious game changer when you need a quick and healthy meal. There are so many paleo compliant sausages out there - stock your freezer!
Dairy
- Dairy Free Milk
- Eggs
- Kerrygold butter
- Plain dairy free yogurt - Add your own natural sweetener to control the sugar content. Also add to smoothies!
Fresh Squeezed 100% Fruit Juice
Not only yummy for the kids, but a great way to naturally sweeten baked goods, sauces, dressings, etc.
- Orange Juice
- Apple Juice
There you have it! The basics of your paleo kitchen!
I hope you guys enjoyed it and as always if you have any questions comment below!
